SKINCARE|| 6 Natural Remedies for puffy Eyes

Recently, I discovered that puffy eyes will not let me be, even though I can comfortably hide this under my glasses, I still wasn’t comfortable with the fact that my eyes feel swollen like I have just had a fight with Mike Tyson. So since I wasn’t comfortable with my puffy eyes ringed in dark circles, I decided to find a lasting solution to it. Here is what I found out after reading so many blogs and watching so many YouTube videos;

It is aid that you have puffy eyes if there are unusual swellings around your eyes and this is posible because the skin surrounding your eyes is very thin and sensitive. It is said that lack of adequate sleep, too much ntake of alchohol, bad sleeping position and other allegies are so of the reason that that can cause puffy eyes.  Here are some of the ways to prevent puffy eyes from getting into your way of having a beautiful day.

Use gravity

This fix is effective if the puffy eyes is caused by bad sleeping position. Get gravity on your side by sleeping with your head elevated to prevent excess fluid build up. If you are prone to puffy eyes, sleeping on your belly is not an option you should consider as this will only make the situation worst.

Cucumbers have been used for years as a home remedy for puffy eyes and it’s the easiest remedy for me because you don’t have to worry about doing any extra thing. All you have to do is slice the cucumber, place on your eyes and wait for 30 minutes. Cucumber contains antioxidants and flavonoids that help to reduce swelling and irritation. Plus you ge an almost instant relief from the puffiness.

When I saw this I was eager to try it out and I think the feeling is quite unbelievable even though my mum just feels like I shouldn’t try everything I read on the internet because for all she cares some of them might be misleading. You can use any type of whole milk or soya milk for this. Just dip your cotton ball into a cup of cold milk, squeeze the excess off and then place on your eyes to help shrink the under eye tissue. A trial will convince you.

Egg White

I have always known that egg white is very effective for skincare.  To try this remedy simply beat up an egg white and apply it with your finger or a brush on your eyes. You will feel it tightening your skin. Let it sit in for 15 minutes before you rinse off. Very effective but everyone can’t be a fan of this because you might get a little bit irritated with the mixture.

Chilled Spoon

If you are someone that is a bit lazy like me then this chilled spoon remedy is for you. This remedy works for me on my lazy days.  Simply put about two spoons in the freezer before you go to bed. In the morning pull the spoons out and place them on your eyes. The cooldness of the spoon will immediately reduce the puffiness without actually doing so much.

Raw Irish potato

Who knew that Irish potatoes has more to offer than being a perfect combo for fried chicken? *Smiles* . You could also use a slice of irish potato in place of a cucumber to get rid of a puffy eye. They contain astringents that helps remove the water from under the eyes. All you just need to do is take a slice or two and place directly on your eyes. Wait for about 15 minutes and then take of.

What’s your favourite remedy for treating puffy eyes? Have you tried any of these?
