LIFE LATELY|| Top 10 Things On My Bucket List

The first time I heard of the word bucket list I was probably in my first year in the university and I kept wondering why it was called a bucket list. So as soon as I got into my room, I consulted my dictionary to find out what it means t have a list in a bucket and this is what I found; the term “bucket list”, is a list of all the goals you want to achieve, dreams you want to fulfill and life experiences that you wish to have before certain landmarks of your life. After realsing what bucket list meant, I began to mentally think of all the things that I’d love to do and expereince.

Today as I sat in my office, I had one of those mental pictures of me being in a certain place that I’ve never been before and having the best of time so I decided that this was the perfect day to pen down my long awaited bucket list. They are quite personal but I’m sure you’d be able to relate with one or two of the items on my list. Here they are;

10. TAKE A TRIP ROUND NIGERIA

Yes, I would love to travel around the world starting with Nigeria. I get a little dizzy when I’m on the road but I still nurse that feeling of seeing all those beautiful places that I google about. The places I would love to visit at the moment are; Badagry because of all the history that place has, Lekki Conservation Center because ts hosts Africa’s longest Canopy walk that is about 401 Meter long and its a natural habitats to various species of Monkey and of course the legendary Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort in Osun State because I’d love to see the wonders of that spring.

9. LEARN HOW TO DANCE

For the records, I’m a terrific dancer. As a trained theatre art student, dance class was compulsory for two years but I just had a way of passing exams without necessarily dancing to enjoy the process. I was glad when I could eventually choose another course to replace dance  but right now, I regret my choice because I can hardly do any dance step right even though I’m very flexible.

8. EAT CHINESE

I’m not a foodie, but I’m of the opinion that some food should just be tasted so at least you have something to say when people are talking about it. So Chinese cuisine I must taste very soon.

7. BUY CAMERA & LAPTOP

Earlier this month I was in a dire need for a phone and I was hoping for a miracle but I eventually bought a phone (Tecno Camon C7) so, I have decided to fill that space with the need for a camera and Laptop. My phone takes very cool photos I must confess but I just feel like I need a camera to execute some specific plans that I have for the blog. Since the only surviving laptop in my house crashed, I’ve been left with no choice but to wish and plan for a new laptop. A Mac-book air won’t be such a bad idea even though this might feel like the girl is over shooting her shoot but you never can tell who is reading this at the moment.

6. HAVE TRUE BUDDIES

I’ve had some friends that have contributed to the wonderful individual that I am today but I just feel that I’m at a point in my life where relationships are very crucial to my growth as an individual.  I’d  want more friends that are mature, appreciative and sensible. My definition of a friend is a person who brings out the best in me, accept my flaws, cry with me and also strategies on how both of us would fulfill our individual and collective dreams. You know a better gist and prayer partner and someone I can also hang out with.

5. RECEIVE A HEARTFELT SURPRISE

This is a big deal for me and I’m seriously anticipating being surprised especially in a good way. I had always wished for a surprise birthday party or something that would make me cry out of excitement and I hope that my marriage proposal won’t be the first surprise I’d get. Yes o, I want a surprise Proposal that is well thought out and planned. I want to remember that day for the rest of my life.

4. BECOME SOMEONE’S MENTOR

I look forward to being someone’s mentor and impacting them positively. I’ve come to reaise that being a mentor doesn’t mean that you have t be an expert in your field, it just means that you are impirtant enough to be an influential part of someon else life. I look forward to teaching a younger individual all I kow and also ensuring that the person doesn’t thread the wrong paths I took.

3. HAVE MULTIPLE SOURCES OF INCOME/ START MY BUSINESS

Having multiple sources of income is very important o. Just expecting money from one place could be frustrating at times. Imagine you wanting to buy something that you really need but you have to wait till the next pay day.  The amount of business idea I have eh, is enough to become a business conglomerate but your girl as dulling and this really has to stop soon. Now is the time to start executing all my ideas.

2. OWN A WHITE SNEAKER

I’m not so much a fan of bright colours but I just love white sneakers. Biko, I’d appreciate any individual that is kind enough to buy me one and I would pray for the person every day.

1. LEARN HOW TO SWIM/DRIVE

I can’t say for sure why this is my number one but I’ve always imagined myself going for a swim or taking a long drive when I’m tensed, stressed or angry. I hardly show these emotions so I feel like a deep dive into the waters or driving a long distance would be a good way to let go of these ugly emotions. I’m definitely gonna take up a swimming and driving classes as soon as I can.
